Thank you for your comment! Storyboarding is indeed a great tool. I've been thinking about your question and I do not have a straight answer but here are some thoughts:

- user stories do not take into account the various personas that use the product, and storyboarding showcase the different specificities (e.g if I am using your product on the go and at home)

- bad design often comes from a lack of user-centricity and the costs of bad design are measurable

- a way to save time can be using libraries of assets - it might be time consuming to do for the first time, but once the assets are created it's more about combining them
